About US
Centre for Global Environment and Development (CGED) is a voluntary, non-profit, and non-political development organization, registered as number S-4797 (918) on 8th June 2005 with Society Act XXI of 1860. CGED has a vision of an environmentally balanced world, with an educated skilled, empowered, healthy, and just society that is why CGED has been progressing very steadily focusing on the education, environmental, and climate change issues faced by the global community as well as Bangladesh. The organization was initiated by Abdul Wahab, a nationally prominent expert on environment management, climate change, biodiversity conservation, education, capacity building, and disaster management issues. Moreover, some enthusiastic development experts in Bangladesh are in the environment, education, health, livelihoods, climate change, disaster and risk management, and natural resources. It started working in Bangladesh in February 1999 and has development programs in Bagatipara and Lalpur upazilas in Natore district, Durgapur, Bagmara, and Charghat Upazilas in Rajshahi district. The CGED is targeted to work in Kurigram, Dinajpur, Pachangar, Naogaon, Bogura districts, Cox’s Bazar district, Sylhet, and Sunamganj, and also work in the coastal districts in Bangladesh.
